My first OpenFrameworks app. Haha. I need to learn a lot more about C++, but I'm slowly getting there.

It's 4 videos of the same person shot from different angles, played at the same time, aligned by userinput.

OF is quite easy to use, even though the documentation is as Theo and Zach confirmed rather confined to the .h files at the moment. Fine with me. Looking forward to tinkering more.

Another self-portrait during travels of places that don't tell a lot of people that much.

I've kind of given up on trying to summarise what this trip included, gladly I haven't spent that much time in front of a screen as I have the first week, so that can only be good.

I'm currently at ITP which is a quite fine place I have to say. The projects that are on display here are great, and compared to what I saw in new media classes in Austria far more advanced.

So I'm going to attempt my first OpenFrameworks project here in a collaboration with Bre and a few students here, as opposed to Processing for two simple reasons: speed, as this project will display a lot of video loops at the same time, and learning to use OF.

I have to say, of all the hackerspaces I've been to so far, this is by far the one I like the most. They nailed it. It's minimal and focused, there is not much more space than you see - however, there's loads of great stuff lying around, for example RepRap robots and its parts. They give classes on awesome things! There's not a lot of sofas but instead tables that look like working. This is not a place to hang out, shit gets done here.

Been around town with Nick and Steffi, figuring out the show with G.R.L. Vienna and INOPERAbLE for next week. Been kind of sceptical up until now because everything has been rather confusing and hectic, but sitting around with the people that are involved in it and seeing how enthusiastic they are clicked for me. It's going to be fun :)

More people that I didn't expect to be anywhere near here seem to be popping up, looking forward to seeing all of them again.

Also, I'd have never expected to be scared of food every day in the "western" world, or be kind of freaked out by nice people on the street. I'm so fucking Austrian, hehe.

Also, jetlag is a bitch. Given my rather ... warped ... sleeping ... pattern,...

I wouldn't have expected this city to feel as if I'd have already lived here, with the exception that I completely forgot how to get around town.

The constant honking, sirens, cellphone ring-tones of songs that I know, cars with music turned up loud, and some dude screaming "YO, NICE 'FRO!" in my direction, all of it makes me smile (which isn't even as much an exception as in Vienna).

On the other hand, I'm pretty surprised by some of how things work here. Even though my English is fluent, being out alone I find myself being confronted with thoughts like "wait, can you say that?" even with simple things like "I'll have the nachos with cheese please". I guess I'll just have to get used to it.

I need a bike. I really really do.
